In my garden

The sun was shining warm on my back as I strolled through my garden marveling at the still blooming flowers. Amazingly, it is 72 degrees here in Central Georgia.
The Camellia bush is still full of blooms and is showering
my garden with pink petal snow.

I know that for many of you your garden is slumbering underneath winter blankets and chilly winds. As I looked at the bare-branched trees, the berry filled bushes, I thanked God for the stalwart flowers enjoying the unusually warm December afternoon.

I even have some bulbs blooming early as well as some deep purple Iris.
One of my favorite Irish Blessings came to mind as I walked.

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. And rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

I am happy to see these Daisies and Black-Eye Susan –
bits of sunshine still in my garden.

In the front the Mexican Sage is still waving in the
wind alongside the red roses.

The rosebush that the city-workers sprayed with brush-killer is coming back! I am so thankful – this thing was so huge – I called
it my rose Volkswagon.

These snapdragons have brought such wonderful color to the Westside of my garden, I hope to add more throughout next year!

I have asked for more roses again this Christmas,
can a girl have too many roses, I don’t think so!

Our cats followed me, patiently, as I strolled through the garden,
Indigo sat and observed – he has such Garfield tendencies – he’s adorable!
